This shirt is another one donated from a Hope Lodge guest from “Wershington” (thank you! And see also: http://davestshirts.blogspot.com/2010/06/t-shirt-169-seattle-sounders.html) and I thought today would be a good day to wear it for a couple of reasons: One, it’s a Sunday during football season. And two, it was the first game back to the Patriots for Deion Branch (http://www.nfl.com/players/deionbranch/profile?id=BRA490549), who came back after playing for the Seattle Seahawks for 4 seasons. The only other thing I know about the Seattle Seahawks (http://www.seahawks.com) is that their quarterback Matt Hasselbeck (http://www.seahawks.com/team/roster/Matt-Hasselbeck/fe26f620-daa8-40ee-b261-e60ce3493fb2) went to Boston College.
What I do know and appreciate about Seattle is the music that came out of there in the early 90s. This past April, my friend Glen and I took a “music tour” of Seattle and saw a lot of sights related to the bands we love. Thanks to the page I found (http://www.fivehorizons.com/feature/seattle/index.shtml), we saw Jimi Hendrix’s grave, the bar that Pearl Jam played their first show (was called The Off Ramp, now called El Corazon), The Moore (a club in Seattle where Pearl Jam’s “Even Flow” video was filmed), the house Kurt Cobain killed himself in, and the sculpture Sound Garden named themselves after.
It made me wish I had a time machine, but also gave me an idea for a screenplay...
